Poonhill Sunrise Trek is one of the most popular, short, and moderate adventure treks around the Annapurna region. This trek offers trekking and hiking through beautiful forests, terraced fields, and a glimpse of sunrise views over the Himalayas from Poon hill. This trek also offers the exploration of local culture and tradition in Ghandruk and Landruk villages. This Nine days Poonhill Sunrise Trek departs from Pokhara, one of the most beautiful locations in Asia, and – some have argued – the world. Exploring the Annapurna range, the route is not particularly difficult and is designed to be accessible to most moderately fit travelers.
Poonhill Sunrise Trek offers impressive natural scenery, and marvelous views of the Annapurna range such as Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167 M, Annapurna I 8091 M, Annapurna south 7219 M, Machhapuchhre Himal 6998 M, Nilgiri 7041 M, Lamjung Himal 6988 M, and other Himalayan peaks. The phenomenal sunrise from Poonhill is just unmissable. It is also the best trek for those who have an interest in Mountain Photography. Poonhill is situated at a height of 3210M from Sea level. This trek starts from one of the beautiful cities Pokhara. One can see the spectacular close-up view of the Annapurna Mountain range and the beautiful Gurung Village. This trek passes through the world’s largest Rhododendron forest.
The other attraction of this trek is villages of the Gurkha soldiers, Unique Gurung cultures, Ghandruk Village, beautiful paddy fields, terraced slopes, and the wonderful culture and lifestyle of ethnic people like Gurungs and Magars. One can visit at Jhinu hot water spring after Tadhapani before heading to Ghandruk.
Welcome to Nepal! Pick up from Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) and Transfer to your hotel. Meeting with your Guide for Trekking information. We will assist if you need to buy any gear/equipment for the trek.
After breakfast, you will move on towards Pokhara by Drive (7 hours) trek preparation & rest day in Pokhara. Evening, stroll colorful Lakeside
Optional: Domestic flight is available from Kathmandu to Pokhara
After breakfast you will drive to Nayapul ( 45 KM) to start your trek, the first day you will trek Nayapul to Tikhedhunga, it takes approx 4-5 hours.
This day you need to walk a little more & hard. During the trek, you could enjoy the natural beauty of the Nepalese hills & the lifestyle of local villages. In Ghorepani, you will spend the night. The total walking time is approx 6-7 hours.
A wonderful sunrise & breathtaking view of the mountains will be a surprise view from the Poon Hill (1-hour hike) that could make your day better. This day in the early morning you will trek to Poon Hill & then after will trek to Tadhapani (4-5 hours), where you are going to spend the night.
This morning you are moving towards Ghandruk (5-6 hour trek), a beautiful village in the pelvis of hills & mountains.
You will trek downstairs to Nayapul from Ghandruk, around a 5-6 hour walk, and then will drive to Pokhara. Evening, you can enjoy boating at Phewa Lake. Overnight stay at Lakeside
After breakfast drive back to Kathmandu. You will get some shopping time & as complimentary special Nepali cultural dinner. Optional: Domestic flight (Pokhara- Kathmandu) and half-day Kathmandu Sightseeing
You will be free until your flight time. We will drop you at Airport 3 hours before flight time (30 mins drive).
