Nepal is a country with drastic altitude change within a limited strip of land; not only do the flora and fauna vary greatly, but so does the temperature. For instance, the Terai, the southern lowland region of the country, features a subtropical climate characterized by high humidity and annual rainfall. While in the Himalayan regions, the picture is completely different. The temperature is extremely cold, yet dazzling sunshine makes it less chilly in the daytime. There is no seasonal constraint on traveling in and through Nepal. The best time to visit Nepal is from September to December and from March to May. Summer (June- Aug) is not really pleasant, and the rainy season is a huge trouble, especially in the mountain and hilly areas, so the best time to visit Kathmandu or the best time to visit Nepal is from September to December and March to May.

Since Nepal is a place where you get multiple tours and trekking options, the September to December season is also the perfect time to go for the  Everest Basecamp Trek, Annapurna Basecamp Trek, Mardi Himal Trek, and Langtang Trek. Even for other activities like river rafting, paragliding, bungee jumping, kayaking, canyoning, and rock climbing, this is the best time of the year. January and February can be very cold, especially with the temperature dropping to zero at night, but will reward you with incredible panoramas and quieter trekking trails as there are fewer visitors. There is a compensating bright sun and brilliant views. It is the best time to enjoy the snow falling on the mountain and go for a short-duration trek like the Poonhill Trek in the mid-hill area. Tourists coming from humid countries like Malaysia, Singapore, the  Philippines, Korea, and Indonesia enjoy this time in Nepal. Late spring is a beautiful time to travel as the rhododendrons burst into bloom.

From May, heat and humidity levels build until the monsoon rains arrive in June and the clouds obscure the glorious mountain views. Nepal celebrates festivals all year, so there is often a festival or pilgrimage taking place.

As with most of the trekking areas in Nepal, the best time to visit is during spring and autumn. Spring is the time for rhododendrons to bloom, while the clearest skies are found after the monsoon in October and November. However, Nepal can be visited the whole year round.
